The Phoenix Film Festival offers a VIP ticket for those diehard movie lovers. In addition to the perks of early entry and meet-and-greet panels with the film makers, VIP ticket holders get a swag bag with exclusive merch. The objective of this project is to create a cohesive design across the entire campaign, which includes: a VIP logo, 3 11”x17” posters, 9 items for the swag bags, a social media campaign, and OOH advertising.
This project began with researching the current branding of the Phoenix Film Festival to ensure this year’s event design was still on brand, but with a fresh, new look. I wanted to appeal to a younger audience of movie lovers and filmmakers in Phoenix. And to do that, I implemented threshold treatments and different textures that create a grungy and gritty aesthetic, bringing a youthful, dynamic feel to the event. Creating a general mascot for the Phoenix Film Festival allows the brand to feel interactive and personal. The camera mascot can be seen throughout the campaign interacting and inviting people to attend the Phoenix Film Festival.
Photoshop was a major part of my process, from compositing the variations of the mascot and mockups, to applying adjustment layers and blend modes. Additionally, Illustrator was used in tandem to create the logo, pattern, and vector-based designs such as the movie lover poster and keychain.
